The legislation around fire door safety is extensive and for good reason. The Safety of your staff and premises is of the utmost importance but it’s something that is often unknowingly compromised. 

The "Fire Door" is the first line of defence between you and the fire and plays a crucial role in restricting the spread of fire and smoke, thus reducing incidences of injury, property damage or even death.

New fire safety laws, (Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (RRFSO) 2005) applying to all businesses came into effect on 1st Oct 2006.

This reform replaced the existing fire certificate, this was a major change to the Fire Regulations in the UK and moved the responsibility for fire safety from the fire authority, to the nominated responsible person who has day-to-day control of the premises.
